Well I've mostly shot with a PHD camera (Press Here Dummy)...Most of my photography was limited to taking snaps of an outing or a party or the like...
The graduation to an SLR happened on one of those occasions when i finally decided to empty out my wardrobe and put things into order when i chanced upon this yashica camera lying unused from the early 80s... I always knew the camera was there but i never had the inclination to use it...
This time around i tried fiddling around with the camera...of course it was just an excuse to stop cleaning the wardrobe for some more time!!
I got hooked...it was fascinating to use it...and i decided to take it along for a trip to sringeri...most of the photos came out decently...i got bolder and decided to take it along on a class trip to kodaikanal and ooty (uh!! the results were...err..ahem! dissappointing....i had a lot to figure out in tht camera b4 i cud do better!!!) but on the other hand when ppl saw me lugging around such a big pro lookin camera they were of the impression tht photographer = Venkat!! (oh boy...the look on their faces when they saw the photos was just priceless!!! lol)
Anyways i thot i'll add up a few interesting things about this wonderful camera....
